DU Gymnastics Starts 2025 at No. 12 in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Denver ranked inside top 13 for eighth-straight year in WCGA preseason poll

DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 12 in the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Preseason Coaches' Poll, the association announced on Tuesday.

Denver has now held a top-13 ranking in the annual preseason poll in each of the last eight seasons.

DU is the second-highest ranked team in the Big 12 Conference, behind only newcomer Utah at No. 5. The Big 12's other two new teams – Arizona State and Arizona – come in at No. 20 and No. 30, respectively. Returning conference members BYU and Iowa State land at No. 27 and No. 32, respectively, while West Virginia received votes.

Six of the top-15 teams in the poll appear on Denver's 2025 schedule, and 12 of DU's 16 opponents for the year appear in the rankings. Coming to Magness Arena this season will be No. 9 Missouri, No. 13 Michigan, No. 14 Georgia, No. 19 Oregon State, No. 20 Arizona State and No. 27 BYU.

Denver is coming off a historic 2024 season in which DU finished the year ranked No. 10 in the country, achieving a final ranking inside the top 10 nationally in five of the last six years. DU advanced to NCAA Regionals for the 25th consecutive season and set multiple scoring and NQS records along the way. Last season, DU captured its first-ever road win at Michigan as well as the program's second- and third-ever wins against UCLA and second-ever against Stanford.

DU set new program records for season average (4,712) and total attendance (23,562) in 2024, continuing a nationwide trend in the growth of collegiate women's gymnastics.

Denver will begin the 2025 season in a nationally-televised showdown against No. 13 Michigan on Sunday, January 5, at 2:45 p.m. MT in Magness Arena. The meet will air live on ESPN2.
