DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (17-6, 6-0 Summit) is ranked No. 54 in the ITA Computerized Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, released on Tuesday.
Denver captured its 10
th-straight Summit League championship with matching 4-0 wins over Oral Roberts in the semifinals and over South Dakota in the final. DU remains unbeaten by Summit League opponents in regular-season or tournament play since joining the league in 2013-14.
In the regular season, DU earned wins over four currently ranked teams: No. 53 Utah, No. 64 Oregon, No. 65 Iowa and No. 67 Kansas State.
The ITA Division I Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings recognize the top 75 teams (out of 311), 125 singles players and 80 doubles teams at the NCAA Division I level.
The University of Denver women's tennis team has secured an automatic berth into the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships and awaits the announcement of the draw, which will be revealed during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, April 29, at 4:30 p.m. MT.
