DENVER - The University of Denver women's lacrosse program announced today that the team has added midfielder Maddie Montgomery to its roster as a graduate-transfer for the 2024 campaign.
Montgomery joins the Pioneers for another year of eligibility after spending the previous four years at William Smith College. She led the Herons in 2024 with 80 goals, 98 points and 40 caused turnovers, in addition, her 316 career draw controls and 280 goals are the program record and 8th in the NCAA active career leaders.

Liza Kelly said. " Her experiences competing for a national title every year at William Smith with be a valuable addition to the team and continue to elevate the Pios in 2025."Â
The 2023 IWLCA Midfielder of the Year, Tewaaraton Watch List member and four-time all Liberty League honoree, Montgomery led the Herons to three-straight Liberty League tournament championships, NCAA tournament appearances and a trip to championship weekend in 2023.Â
The Queensbury, New York, native was recognized as a USA Lacrosse First-Team All-American and Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024.
Prior to her collegiate career, Montgomery played at Queensbury High School, setting the school's single season scoring record (87 goals) and named a US Lacrosse All-American. A two-time first team all conference selection, she was also a team captain her junior senior year and a four-time athlete of the year.Â
