DENVER – Nine University of Denver gymnasts earned Academic All-Big 12 Conference Team honors for the 2024 season, the Big 12 Conference announced on Tuesday.
For the second time since joining the Big 12 Conference in 2016 and the first time since 2020, 100 percent of Denver's eligible gymnasts earned academic recognition from the conference. This is also the third year in a row that DU has had nine Academic All-Big 12 Team honorees, matching the program record.

The Academic All-Big 12 Conference Team recognizes student-athletes who have maintained a GPA of at least 3.00, either cumulative or over the previous two academic periods, while participating in at least 20 percent of the team's competitions. First-team honors consist of student-athletes with GPAs of at least 3.20 while second-team members hold GPAs between 3.00-3.19.
Seniors who have participated for at least two years and meet all criteria except the participation rate are also eligible. Freshmen and transfer students are not eligible.
In total, nine of Denver's 15 gymnasts on the roster earned Academic All-Big 12 Team nods. The six student-athletes who were not named to the team are freshmen or missed the entire season with injury and thus were not eligible.
In total, DU's nine honorees were tied for the second-most in the conference with Oklahoma and behind only Iowa State's 10.
