Taylor VanThof Joins Denver Women’s Lacrosse Staff

VanThof joins the Pioneers after serving as the offensive coordinator and draw unit coach at Penn State and is currently a member of the U.S. Women’s Box Team.

DENVER – The University of Denver women's lacrosse program has hired Taylor VanThof as associate head coach and offensive and recruiting coordinator, head coach Liza Kelly announced on Wednesday.

"We are thrilled to have Taylor VanThof join the Pioneer family," Kelly said. "We want to have a top 10 attack and Taylor has the playing and coaching background to get us there. Her passion for the game and enthusiasm for coaching are unmatched."

VanThof spent the 2023-24 season as the offensive coordinator and draw unit coach at Penn State. She helped lead the Nittany Lions to wins over four nationally ranked teams including then-No. 1 Northwestern and an appearance in the program's third ever Big Ten Championship game.

Prior to her time at Penn State, VanThof spent three seasons on staff at Ohio State (2021-23) and spent the shortened 2019-2020 season as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut.

A native of Livonia, New York, VanThof played three seasons with Athletes Unlimited. She was drafted 14th overall by the Philly Fire in the 2019 WPLL Spring Draft and was signed to the Command for the 2020 WPLL season.

In her collegiate career at Loyola (Md.), VanThof set the record for most draws in a single game (21), season (146), and career (392), and became one of three players in Patriot League History with 100 draw controls in multiple seasons. The midfielder was the 2019 Patriot League Midfielder of the Year, a Tewaaraton Award Semifinalist and IWLCA Second Team All-American.
VanThof earned her bachelor's degree in business administration: marketing from Loyola (Md.) in May 2019. She completed her master's in kinesiology: sport management, at Ohio State in Spring 2022.
