DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team was voted as the favorite to win the 2025 Summit League title in the 2025 Summit League Women's Tennis Preseason Poll, the league announced on Wednesday.
By a coaches' vote, Denver topped the poll as the 10-time defending league champion and 13-time NCAA tournament qualifier.

Denver welcomes back three student-athletes from the 2024 roster, including reigning Summit League Player of the Year, senior
Andrea Burguete Beltran, who was also named to the 2025 Summit League Women's Tennis Preseason Athletes to Watch List. Burguete Beltran advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships to end the fall season and won her first-round match. The Burriana, Spain, native went 5-0 in league play a season ago and finished the year with a 23-8 singles record (11-6 at the No. 1 spot in dual matches).
Also back from last year's team are All-Summit League Team members in juniors
Claudia Martinez de Velasco and
Louise Wikander. Denver has also added five newcomers to the roster including junior transfers in
Hana Bečirovič Novak (formerly Long Beach State) and
Marley Lambert (formerly Michigan State).
DU will begin its 2025 dual season with an in-state match at Colorado on Sunday, January 19. Denver is set to open Summit League play on March 1 when it hosts Kansas City.
