DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis player
Daniel Sancho Arbizu was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week for the first week of the 2025 season, the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
The Denver senior won all six of his matches across singles and doubles during DU's three-match weekend to open the spring dual season. He didn't drop a set in any of his singles matches, posting a 6-2 6-0 win in the season opener against UC Davis, adding a 6-4 6-2 win over Air Force on Saturday and finishing the weekend with a 6-2 6-4 win against Montana State.
In doubles, he teamed up with DU freshman
Theo Coats for the first time and swept all three of the duos matches. They began with a dominant 6-1 win against UC Davis before posting back-to-back 6-3 wins versus Air Force and Montana State.
This is the sixth Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor on Sancho Arbizu's career.
DU continues heads on the road for the first time in 2025, playing in the ITA Kickoff Weekend on January 25-26, hosted by Ohio State. Denver will first play (RV) Princeton on Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m. ET/11 a.m. MT.
