DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team sits at No. 11 in the Week 1 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
DU entered the year ranked No. 12 in the WCGA Preseason Coaches' Poll and posted a 195.700-194.975 win over preseason No. 13 Michigan in Sunday's season opener in Magness Arena.

Overall: No. 11 (195.700 average)
Vault: No. 4 (49.025)
Bars: No. 2 (49.450)
Floor: No. 2 (49.250)
Denver set a program record for a season opener with its 49.450 on bars to place the team No. 2 in the country after the first week of competition, matching the DU record for highest national ranking on the event (last achieved: week 7 of 2024).
DU is also ranked No. 2 on floor following its 49.250 in Sunday's meet, which was the fourth-highest score in a season opener on the event in Denver history. No. 2 is DU's highest ranking on the event since also hitting No. 2 in week 7 of the 2005 season.
As a team, Denver adds a third top-five national ranking, coming in at No. 4 on vault. It is the DU's highest ranking on the event since week 8 of 2023 (also: No. 4).

Nine total DU gymnasts hold at least one top-25 individual rankings following the season opener, led by Ulrich and Mundell on four and three events, respectively. Ulrich finished the 2025 season ranked No. 22 in the nation in the all-around to end her freshman campaign while Mundell was tied for No. 22 on bars, placing her in final national rankings on the event for the second time in her career.
No. 11 Denver hosts No. 5 Missouri, Georgia and LIU in its first quad meet of the season on Sunday, January 12, at 1:45 p.m. MT. Missouri began its 2025 campaign with a quad-meet win at home on January 3 while Georgia and LIU will open their seasons this week.
