DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team closed the Colorado Cup with six more wins at Denver Tennis Park on Sunday.
Three different DU doubles teams came up with wins while a fourth only lost in an extended tiebreak. DU's best scoreline of the three wins came from the freshman duo of
Yunfei Cai and
Ruby Hansen with a 6-4 win against Colorado.
Cai also added a second win on the day, coming through with a straight-sets victory against CU's Heidi Crncan. It was Denver third singles wins against the Buffs on the final day of the tournament. Senior
Claudia Martinez de Velasco also won in two sets in a bounce-back performance on Sunday, and sophomore
Natálie Cinková rallied from a set down to lose just two games in the final two sets in her win.
Next up for the Denver women's tennis team is the HEB Invite, hosted by Baylor, on November 7-9.
