SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Denver men's swimmer
Hamish McLellan and women's swimmer
Julia Saxman swept this week's Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
McLellan broke Denver's school record in the 100 fly with the fastest time in the Summit League this season, clocking in at 46.97 to set the new program best that was previously held by Kyle Robrock (2017) and Neil Wachtler (2020). The Denver sophomore also put his name in the DU record books in the 100 free over the weekend, finishing the prelims heat at 43.89, the seventh-fastest time in program history and the fastest time in the league this season. McLellan swam the 50 free in 20.12, which was also the fastest time in the Summit League in 2025-26.
Saxman continued her freshman season success for Denver's women over the weekend. The Wisconsin native clocked in at 22.81 in a 50 free swim-off to qualify for the B-Final, the seventh-fastest time in program history. Later in the meet, Saxman also swam the 100 fly in 53.69, which was the seventh-fastest time in DU history and swam the 100 free in 50.99. All three of those times were the fastest in the Summit League this season.
McLellan's award was his third of the season, while Saxman earned her second.
