MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs continued the Minnesota Invite with the second prelims session of the week on Friday morning at the Jean K Freeman Aquatic Center.
Sophomore
Hamish McLellan broke a school record that was co-held by Kyle Robrock (2017/47.04) and Neil Wachtler (2020) when he turned in a 46.92 in the men's 100 fly on Friday to qualify eighth in the loaded Minnesota Invite.
After recording the eighth-fastest 50 free time yesterday,
Julia Saxman put her name in the top-10 times in program history in the third difference event of her freshman season, turning in the eighth-fastest 100 fly time with her 53.76 to qualify ninth.
First-year Pioneer and junior
Kito Campbell was just shy of another Denver school record in the 100 breast, clocking in at 52.91 for the second-fastest time in program history, just 0.59 seconds behind
Adriel Sanes school record set in 2020.
Senior captain
Ali Beay moved up a spot in the 100 back top-10, climbing to seventh with her personal-best time of 54.27, 0.39 seconds ahead of her previous best mark set earlier in this calendar year.
In total, Denver qualified 19 swims into tonight's A and B Finals.
Dakotah Parker led the Pioneer men on the 1-meter board with a 301.10 to take fifth. Parker's score was good enough for his first NCAA Cut on the one-meter board this season.
Trip Gregory took eighth with a 272.15.
Colin Breuer took 10
th with a 258.65. The women were on the 3-meter board on Friday.
Savanna Berry took 19
th with a 238.00.
