The Pioneers will continue the 2025 season on Saturday with a trip to Air Force

DENVER – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program had two players selected by the coaches as 2025 Preseason All-Americans, the USILA announced Wednesday.

A pair of captains in senior short stick defensive midfielder Casey Wilson and senior close defenseman Jimmy Freehill were named to the USILA Preseason Second Team.

An Honorable Mention All-American a year ago, Wilson had six points (4-2) in transition while picking up 35 grounders and forcing 14 turnovers. The Canadian National Team member has played in 47 career games in Denver's defensive midfield and has picked up 83 career ground balls.

A 2024 USILA Third Team All-American, Freehill often drew the opponent's top attackmen a year ago while picking up 37 ground balls and forcing 22 turnovers. Freehill led a Denver defense that finished fourth in the country in goals against average at 9.41 goals allowed per game.
