Denver Men’s Tennis Improves National Ranking to No. 63

DU gains two spots in ITA team rankings; Sancho Arbizu comes in at No. 45 in singles

DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team improved its national ranking for a second week in a row to No. 63 in the ITA Computerized Rankings, released on Tuesday.

Denver finished its regular season with two sweeps over Summit League opponents on the way to its sixth straight Summit League regular-season title. DU opened the weekend with a 7-0 win over Drake before adding a 5-0 victory at North Dakota following a two-hour delay to start the match. The Pioneers ended the regular season with a 16-6 overall record, including a perfect 5-0 record in league matches.

Senior Daniel Sancho Arbizu continues his streak of appearing in the ITA singles rankings, holding steady at nearly the same spot for a second week in a row at the No. 45 ranking this week. He enters the postseason with a 28-5 record since the fall, going 19-2 in dual match play and a perfect 5-0 against Summit League opponents. All 19 of his wins in 2025 have been in straight sets at the No. 1 spot, and he is riding a 13-match win streak after losing a combined five games across two matches last weekend.

The ITA Division I Men's Collegiate Tennis Rankings recognize the top 75 teams (out of 243), 125 singles players and 60 doubles teams at the NCAA Division I level.

The University of Denver men's tennis team is the No. 1 seed for the 2025 Summit League Men's Tennis Championships and will host the tournament at Denver Tennis Park on April 18-19. DU will play No. 4 seed Illinois State in the semifinals on Friday, April 18, at 12 p.m. MT.
