PHILADELPHIA – Former University of Denver men's lacrosse short stick defensive midfielder
Casey Wilson was taken fourth overall by Las Vegas in the 2025 NLL Draft on Saturday afternoon.
The Victoria, B.C., native played in 60 career games in the last four seasons for the Pioneers, picking up 109 ground balls and forcing 28 caused turnovers. In transition, Wilson scored 14 goals and added 12 assists for 26 career points. Last season, Wilson scored three goals and distributed five helpers in 13 games, while picking up 26 ground balls and forcing eight turnovers.
Wilson is now the 37
th Pioneer to have been selected in the National Lacrosse League Draft in the program's history. Wilson joined
Noah Manning (9/Calgary),
Mic Kelly (19/Vancouver) and
Jimmy Freehill (32/Buffalo) as the four Pioneers picked in the first two rounds of this year's draft. The four players in the first two rounds ties Denver's 2009 NLL Draft Class that had three first round picks and a second rounder.
