No. 17 Denver Gymnastics Hosts Iowa State in ESPN2 Meet

MY RIBBON, MY REASON:
Sunday is Denver's annual "My Ribbon, My Reason" meet in which the DU gymnasts will raise awareness for their individual chosen cause(s) by wearing colored hair ribbons that correspond with each cause(s). DU has partnered with campus and local organizations in coordination with the gymnasts' causes, and fans are encouraged to arrive to Magness Arena early to visit with each organization on the concourse before and during the meet.

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver overcame a slow start by improving its scores from rotation to rotation on its way to a 196.000-193.375 win in its Big 12 Conference opener at West Virginia on January 24. DU ended the meet with its strongest beam rotation so far in 2026, posting a 49.250 in the team's final event.
Junior Maddison Reidenbach scored a career-high 9.900 on beam – the highest score for any gymnast on either team on any event in the meet – to win the title, the first of her career on the event. Senior Cecilia Cooley joined her atop a podium, capturing her first career all-around title.
EYE ON THE RANKINGS:
Denver holds the No. 17 spot in the Road to Nationals Week 4 rankings and adds top-20 rankings on three events. DU sits at No. 12 on floor, No. 15 on beam and No. 20 on vault, and is just outside the top 25 on bars.
For the third consecutive week to start DU's season, Cooley sits near the top of the national floor rankings, tying for No. 5 with a 9.917 average.

Iowa State is coming off its Big 12 Conference opener – also televised live on ESPN2 – against Utah on February 25 where the Cyclones placed second to the Utes, 192.300-195.725. Haylee Hardin won the floor title with a 9.925, and teammate Noelle Adams tied for second with a 9.875. Hardin holds the team's highest average on vault, beam and floor so far while Frederique Sgarbossa leads the way on bars.
Denver holds a 35-8 all-time record against Iowa State and has won 10 consecutive meetings, most recently posting a 196.750-195.775 win at ISU in the teams' regular-season meet at Iowa State last season. The Cyclones last visited Denver on February 11, 2024, in what was a 197.775-195.800 DU win.

- All 14 of Denver's gymnasts have competed in at least one full lineup for DU this season after senior Kiley Rorich made her season debut – competing on bars and making a collegiate vault debut – and freshman Abby Steeley was substituted into the beam lineup after making her return from injury a week before in exhibition.
- Each of the 14 gymnasts have also made their NCAA appearances on at least one event.
