[20] Denver Set for Road Test Against [5] Michigan

DENVER -- The No. 20 University of Denver women's lacrosse team travels to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on the No. 5 Wolverines on Thursday at 12 p.m. MT. 

The Pioneers are 4-2 all-time against Michigan. Denver earned the 13-11 upset win in the last meeting between the two teams on March 5, 2025, at Peter Barton Stadium. 

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
- Denver opened Big East play with a 15-4 win over UConn on March 22 at Peter Barton.
- The Pioneers take a two game road trip this week with games against Michigan at 2 p.m. MT on March 26 and Butler at 9:30 a.m. MT on March 28.
- DU returns home to host Marquette on April 1.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT
- Junior attacker Olivia Ripple tied for the sixth-fastest Pioneer to reach the 100 goal milestone, doing so on March 13 in 48 games.
- Ripple leads the Big East and is 5th in the nation , averaging 4 goals per game and her 36 goals this season are good for 13th nationally. 
- She broke the single-game scoring record with 10 goals in the Pioneers' 23-10 victory over Marquette last season.
- Her 63 goals in 2025 are good for 5th most in a single season.
- The California native owns the record for most goals in a postseason game with 7 in the 20-9 victory over Georgetown in the Big East Semifinal game.

A BALANCED OFFENSE
- The Pioneers rank 6th in the countryin scoring offense, averaging 15.67 goals per game.
- Denver has five different attackers in double-digit goals so far this season - Olivia Ripple (36),Caroline Keil (33),  Eva Thomsen-Marr (23), Ryan Dineen (18) and Caroline Bowers (11).
- The Crimson and Gold have had five or more goal scorers in every game this season.
- Thomsen-Marr leads the team with three game-winning goals.

BETWEEN THE PIPES 
- Sophomore goalkeeper Lexi Gwaku leads the Big East and is sixth in the nation with 7.35 goals against average an has recorded 53 saves through nine contests.
- She tied her career-high nine save in the 14-7 win at Arizona State on Feb. 15, 2026.
- The New Jersey native is nine saves from the century mark in only 21 career games. 

"HOT PINK" DEFENSE 
- Denver leads the Big East and ranks 5th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 7.33 goals through its first nine games of the season .
- DU ranks 37th nationally with 9.33 caused turnovers per contest. 
- Denver has forced 7+ caused turnovers in all but five games over the last four seasons.
