DENVER -- The University of Denver women's lacrosse team travels to Washington D.C. this weekend for its regular-season finale against the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday at 10 a.m. MT.
Denver owns eight-straight wins against the Hoyas, dating back to the 2021 season and has an 11-5 record all-time against Georgetown. In their most recent meeting, the Pioneers defeated the Hoyas, 20-9 in the semifinal round of the Big East Tournament on May 1, 2025 in Philadelphia.
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
Denver defeated Xavier, 19-1, on Senior Day at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
The Pioneers close out the regular season on the road against Georgetown on April 25.
DU will host the Big East women's lacrosse tournament on April 30-May 2 at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
THE RIPPLE EFFECT
Junior attacker
Olivia Ripple tied for the sixth-fastest Pioneer to reach the 100 goal milestone, doing so on March 13 in 48 games.
Ripple leads the Big East and is 8th in the nation , averaging 3.67 goals per game and her 55 goals this season are good for 12th nationally.
She broke the single-game scoring record with 10 goals in the Pioneers' 23-10 victory over Marquette last season.
Her 63 goals in 2025 are good for 5th most in a single season.
The California native owns the record for most goals in a postseason game with 7 in the 20-9 victory over Georgetown in the Big East Semifinal game.
FREE POSITION FIREPOWER
Nine different Pioneers have recorded at least one free position goal this season: Ripple, Keil, Thomsen-Marr, Dineen, Mutch, Bowers, Harris, Wilmot and Cho.
Keil leads the nation with 1.27 free position goals per game. Her 19 free position goals are the most by a Pioneer in a single season, breaking the record set by Julia Gilbert in 2023, with two free position tallies in the win over Xavier on April 18.
KEIL THE KILLER
Caroline Keil ranks second on the Pioneers with 47 goals and 10 assists through 15 games.
The redshirt sophomore ranks 28th in the nation with 3.13 goals per game and 27th with 47 total goals.
Keil leads the the country with 1.27 free position goals per game and boasts a .679 free position percentage which ranks 11th in the NCAA.
The Illinois native recorded her first career sock trick on Feb. 22 at Vanderbilt with a career-high seven goals.
"HOT PINK" DEFENSE
Denver leads the Big East and ranks 2nd in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 6.93 goals through 15 games .
DU ranks 42nd nationally with 9.40 caused turnovers per contest.
Denver has forced 7+ caused turnovers in all but seven games over the last four seasons.
