DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team picked up multiple ITA academic awards, the ITA announced on Monday.
Denver earned ITA All-Academic Team recognition and also saw nine of its 10 student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete awards.
The team finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.648 for the 2025-26 academic year, giving DU its fourth consecutive ITA All-Academic Team honor and its 15
th in program history.

Denver's nine ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2025-26 became a new program record for the most in a singles season, topping the previous record of six, which had been set in five previous seasons (2004, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2024).
ITA All-Academic Teams must have a team GPA of 3.20 or higher for the academic year. ITA Scholar-Athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the academic year.
Adkins collected her fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete award in as many years but her first with Denver. Her 21 doubles wins were tied for the most on the roster in 2025-26, and she added 15 more in singles including a 5-0 record in Summit League play. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in communication in June, 2026.
Bečirovič Novak made it a three-peat in ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition – including in each of her two seasons at DU. Though an injury limited her playing time late in the season, she finished the year with 12 singles wins and 14 doubles wins, which included five apiece during the spring dual season. In June, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Cai, the Summit League Newcomer of the Year, started her NCAA career with 24 singles victories and 13 more in doubles. She was the only DU player to log a 6-0 record in Summit League singles matches as part of her 17-4 run in duals. Among her doubles wins were five from the No. 1 position. She has not yet declared a major.
Cinková led DU with 27 singles wins on the year, 13 of which came during the spring dual season and five of which were against Summit League opponents. She also collected 21 doubles wins. This is her second ITA Scholar-Athlete award in as many years as a business management major. She was also named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team.
Hansen started her collegiate career with 10 singles wins and nine doubles wins. Four times, she made Denver's singles lineup in dual match play, going a perfect 4-0 and grabbing the first league win of her career. She is studying accounting.
Lambert earned the second ITA Scholar-Athlete award of her career and her first with Denver. She won 16 matches apiece in singles and doubles in 2025-26, going 11-6 from the No. 2 singles spot and adding nine victories at No. 1 doubles. In league play, she was 5-1 in singles and won three more matches in doubles. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance in June, 2026.
Martinez de Velasco became a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, doing so in her freshman and senior seasons. In total, she finished the season with eight wins in singles and picked up 16 more in doubles – including a 9-3 record in duals. She won both of her singles matches and went 4-1 in doubles against Summit League opponents. In June, she completed her bachelor's degree in finance.
Nguyen earned her first ITA Scholar-Athlete nod and made her collegiate debut in 2025-26 after redshirting during the 2024-25 campaign. In the fall season, she made her first appearances for Denver and earned 10 doubles wins and seven singles wins. The sophomore is a business major.
Wikander closed out her stellar NCAA career going four-for-four in picking up ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. The ITA Mountain Regional Senior Player of the Year and Sportsmanship Award Winner qualified to the NCAA singles draw as the ITA Mountain Regional champion in the fall on her way to winning 25 total singles matches on the year. She added 21 doubles victories as well including 11 during the dual season. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in psychology and kinesiology in June, 2026.

Sofia Mavor – each earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors with their respective teams.
DU's nine ITA Scholar-Athletes are the most among Summit League programs for 2025-26 and tied for the most among West Coast Conference programs (also: Gonzaga). Among West Coast Conference members for the upcoming 2026-27, DU held the most ITA Scholar-Athletes outright.
Denver finished the 2025-26 season with a 16-8 record on its way to winning its 12
th consecutive Summit League title and advanced to the NCAA National Championship tournament for a 15
th time overall. In what was DU's final year in the Summit League, the Pioneers secured another perfect record in league matches (6-0), extending Denver's perfect record in the conference (71-0).
The University of Denver is preparing for its first season in the West Coast Conference after making the transition to its new conference home on July 1.
