Akpinar Finishes Runner-Up, Pioneers Tie for Second at Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Denver men's golf team finished tied for second at 15-under at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Monday at Eisenhower Golf Course.
Colorado claimed the team title at 30-under, while Denver and UTEP tied for second at 15-under. The Pioneers carded a 9-under 279 in the final round to close the tournament.Â
Arthur Akpinar led the Pioneers, finishing runner-up individually at 8-under after carding a 3-under 69 in the final round. Ryder Odem tied for sixth at 6-under, while Brayden Bozak tied for 16th at 2-under after firing a 5-under 67.Â

Competing as individuals, Dallin Delgado tied for 17th at 5-over, while Chase Kacher tied for 21st at 8-over. Delgado closed the tournament with a 2-under 70.Â
The Pioneers will return to action at the Mark Simpson Invitational, Sept. 29-30, in Boulder, Colorado.
