The University of Denver women's tennis completed its trip to Lincoln, Neb., with a 5-2 loss to the University of Nebraska, Sunday (Jan. 27).
The Pioneers No. 1 tandem of freshmen Barbara Kourim and Yanick Dullens earned Denver's lone win on the doubles courts, defeating Nebraska's pair of Amy Frisch and Katrina Belan. Nebraska won the next two doubles matches to earn the point.
At singles, Dullens continued her strong play, won her third-straight match. In Dullens first appearance at No. 1 singles, the first-year Pioneer topped Frisch, 7-5, 4-6, 10-3. The only other Pioneer victory came at No. 3 singles, where freshman Stephanie Ginsburg defeated Leslie Harvey, 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-6.
Denver (1-2) will host Army on February 8. The match is slated to be held at indoors Heather Ridge Racket Club in Aurora at 12 noon.
