Denver Women Roll Past Utah, 6-1

DENVER - The No. 46 University of Denver women's tennis team won five of six singles matches and earned the doubles point to crush Utah, 6-1, on Thursday, April 7, at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. Denver has now won six consecutive matches.

Yanick Dullens (Susteren, Netherlands), Suzana Maksovic (Helsingborg, Sweden), Barbara Kourim (Dallas, Texas), Jenny Trettin (Berlin, Germany) and Rachel Sachmaster (Alpharette, Ga.) all captured singles matches for the Pioneers, but Marisa Mechem (Fredericksburg, Texas) was defeated at No. 6 singles by Utah's Cinthia Saucedo in a thrilling three-set match tiebreaker, 6-7 (4), 6-1, 10-8.

The Pioneers earned the doubles point by virtue of winning two of the three doubles matches. No. 28 Dullen and Madsovic won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles and Sachmaster and Mechern won at No. 3 doubles.

Denver returns to action at home against instate rival Colorado on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m.
