DENVER - The No. 47 Denver Pioneers posted their second consecutive win with a 5-2 win over Montana in women's tennis action this afternoon at Colorado Athletic Club - Monaco. DU lost the doubles point, but rallied with five singles wins to improve to 12-8 overall with its second consecutive win.
"We had another dominating performance," DU head coach Amy Jensen said. "We have built some great momentum after this week that we'll carry forward into the conference championships."
Montana swept all three doubles matches to claim the early 1-0 lead. DU regained the lead and rolled to the 5-2 win after winning five of six singles matches.
Claiming singles wins for the Pioneers were Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway), Kyla Iwinski (Marietta, Ga.), Rachel Sackmaster (Alpharetta, Ga.), Marisa Mechem (Fredericksburg, Texas) and Lorinda Boothman (Naples, Fla.).
The Pioneers return to action at the Sun Belt Conference Championships on April 19.
