The Pioneers found themselves down early losing all three doubles matches and losing the first point of the match. DU could not recover losing four of six singles matches en route to the 5-2 loss

Sophomore Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway) and Senior Marisa Mechem (Fredericksburg, Texas) were the lone Pioneers to win a singles match. Aksdal defeated Bianca Jochimsen 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 and Mechem defeated Tiffany Coll 6-3, 6-3 to give Denver its only two points of the match.

"We've worked really hard all season long and put in a lot of work but it didn't pay off this weekend," said head coach Amy Jensen. It will pay off very soon, these girls deserve it."

The Pioneers are in action again on Thursday, April 12 against Wyoming at noon at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion.
