CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Denver women's tennis team enjoyed another solid day at the 2008 Midwest Blast, hosted by the University of Illinois.

 

DU won two of three doubles matches against Wichita State and went 3-3 in singles against host Illinois.

 

Kyla Iwinski (Marietta, Ga.) and Ute Schnoy (Altenstadt, Germany) won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles against the Shockers, while Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway) and Bhavani Tirumurti (Jakarta, Indonesia) won 8-6 at No. 3.

 

Aksdal, Schnoy and Iwinski captured singles wins against the Illini. Aksdal won 6-2, 6-2, and Schnoy and Iwinski won in three sets.

 

DU plays Notre Dame in singles to conclude competition tomorrow at Atkins Tennis Center.
