FORT COLLINS, Colo. - No. 35 Denver blanked in-state rival Colorado State, 7-0, in women's tennis action this afternoon at Miramont South Lifestyle Fitness. DU dominated play for its fifth consecutive win and sent its record to 6-3. Colorado State falls to 2-4.
Mallory Voelker (Dousman, Wis.), Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway), Ute Schnoy (Altenstadt, Germany), Julia Bauregger (Klagenfurt, Austria), Kyla Iwinski (Marietta, Ga.) and Bhavani Tirumurti (Jakarta, Indonesia) posted straight-set singles.
DU also cruised in doubles as Voelker and Bauregger won at No. 1, Schnoy and Iwinski at No. 2 and Aksdal and Tirumurti won at No. 3.
Voelker and Schnoy improved their singles records to 9-0, while Voelker and Bauregger are 7-1 in doubles.
DU returns to action against Colorado on Feb. 28.
