Box Score DENVER Six different Pioneers scored goals, but the No. 21 University of Denver Pioneers fell to No. 9 North Carolina 12-6 on Monday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
Denver (4-4) was led by senior Megan Carver (Baltimore, Md.), who had three points on one goal and two assists. DU also received goals from junior Lexi Sanders (Greenwood Village, Colo.), senior Karen Morton (Adelaide, Australia), junior Ali Flury (Arnold, Md.), senior Jenn Moore (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and freshman Becca Steinberg (Millersville, Md.).
Chelsea Parks led North Carolina (4-2) with three goals, while Jenn Russell, Corey Donohoe and Megan Bosica each had two goals apiece.
The visiting Tar Heels outshot the Pioneers 33-19 in the game.
Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Harman (Boyertown, Pa.) had 11 saves for the Pioneers, while Logan Ripley mad eight for North Carolina.
The Pioneers are on the road for their next two games, beginning at Stony Brook on Wed., March 18 at 2 p.m. followed by a 10 a.m. match at Rutgers on Friday, March 20.
