Pioneers Sweep Golden Bears

DENVER - Denver completed an unbeaten weekend in women's tennis with a 7-0 win over in-state rival Northern Colorado late Saturday night at Pinehurst Country Club. The Pioneers improved to 6-12 with their third straight win. Northern Colorado falls to 3-8.

DU won the doubles point with a clean sweep at all three positions and Ute Schnoy (Altenstadt, Germany), Julia Bauregger (Klagenfurt, Austria), Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany), Lorinda Boothman (Naples, Fla.), Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) and Mikele Smith (Denver) each claimed singles wins.

Schnoy and Bauregger each improved to 10-8, respectively, and Smith won her first singles match of the season with an 8-6 super-set win at No. 6.

DU travels to North Texas on Friday, April 2.
