DU Women's Tennis Defeated by Utah 5-2

SALT LAKE CITY- The No. 50 University of Denver women’s tennis team was defeated 5-2 by No. 55 University of Utah on Thursday in Salt Lake City.

Posting singles wins for Denver were Sonja Radosevic (Miami, Fla.) and Evy Van Genechten (Antwerp, Belgium). Radosevic was victorious over Sarah Richter 7-6, 6-4. In a tough match, Van Genechten beat Paige Miles after three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Caroline Schnell (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and Maureen Slattery (Newport News, Va.) battled through three sets in their matches as well, but lost in the tiebreakers.

In doubles, the team of Kathryn Hughes (Wrexham, Wales) and Radosevic defeated Richter and Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa 8-4.

Denver women’s tennis next faces BYU on Saturday at 10 a.m., MT in Provo, Utah.
