Feb. 26, 2015 OMAHA, NEB. - The No. 51 University of Denver women's tennis team (5-3, 1-0 Summit League) blew out Summit League opponent Omaha Thursday afternoon at Miracle Hill Golf Course and Tennis Center. The Pioneers beat the Mavericks, 7-0.
The Pioneers nabbed their sixth straight doubles point with a clean sweep of the doubles courts. Sophmore Maureen Slattery and freshman Julia O'Loughlin won their sixth doubles match of the season, 8-4 over Lo and Baude.
Denver rolled in the singles as they did not allow the Mavs to win more than two games in each individual match. O'Loughlin won her fifth straight singles match when she took down Stafford, 6-1, 6-1. Sophomore Morgan Barnhill tabbed her third singles win of the season as she took down Holscher, 6-0, 6-1.
"It was nice to get our first regular season league win today," said Head Coach Christian Thompson. "We competed well in the singles and are ready to take on Nebraska tomorrow."
Denver will continue their road trip with Nebraska Friday, February 27, at 3:00 p.m. MT.
