DENVER -- The University of Denver women's tennis team (11-8, 5-0 Summit League) continued to play strong tennis in the Summit League Saturday morning at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. The Pioneers defeated the IUPUI Jaguars, 6-1.

Denver swept the Jags in doubles, only allowing IUPUI to win one game between the three courts.

"Today was a rewarding team effort as we swept 7 of 9 singles and doubles matches," said Head Coach Christian Thompson. "We are heading into next weekend 5-0 in the Summit League with two more regular season matches left. We will work hard this week to be prepared for South Dakota and Oral Roberts."

With a, 1-0 lead sophomore Morgan Barnhill put Marina Schneiger away, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Julia O'Loughlin would follow that up with a, 6-2, 6-0 sweep of her own.

Sophomore Sonja Radosevic clinched the victory for the Pioneers with a quick, 6-0, 6-1 win on court two. Junior Charlotte Derbyshire tacked on to the 4-0 lead when she beat Samantha Mayer, 6-0, 2-6, 1-0.

Junior Evy Van Genechten capped the scoring for Denver with a, 6-2, 6-2 sweep over Rachel Bridegroom on court five.

The Pioneers will host Oral Roberts for Senior Day on Friday April 17, at 3:00 p.m. MT. The match will be held at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion.

"Michelle Garpenlov has been an integral part of our success and we are excited to be able to celebrate Senior Day in her honor on Saturday April 18," said Thompson.
