May 13, 2015 DENVER-- The NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee has selected the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams that will compete in the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships. The Denver men's tennis team will send junior Henry Craig and sophomore Alex Gasson.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 20-25 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas, following the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 14-19. Baylor University will serve as host.
"I am thrilled that Henry and Alex will be representing DU at the NCAA Individual Tournament," said head coach Danny Westerman. "It is incredibly difficult to do it once in your career and these two are now going back a second straight season."
Craig will pull double duty as he has been selected for both singles and doubles competition. Craig recorded a 22-10 overall singles record, including the fall. He also posted a team best 22-8 doubles record.
Gasson will partner with Craig. The two recorded a 14-6 overall doubles record. Craig and Gasson were ranked as a pair, reaching as high as No. 23.
Both will return for the second consecutive year as automatic bids from the Summit League.
Live scoring and video will be available through the tournament central page. Tournament Central
"I know they learned a lot last year at the NCAAs in Athens," said Westerman. "I hope we can take another step this season in Waco and make run in both draws."Ă‚
All matches shall be the best-of-three sets. Regular scoring and a 12-point tiebreaker at six-games-all will be used for all matches.
