DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team continues its fall campaign at the 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by UNLV, on October 15-20.
Four Pioneers are entered into the singles and doubles draws: seniors
Ryoma Mishiro and
Raffaello Papajcik, and sophomores
Theo Coats and
Samuel Rovai.
Denver's doubles teams for the tournament will be Coats/Papajcik and Mishiro/Rovai.
On the line are individual berths to the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles & Doubles Championships, automatically given to the two singles finalists and the doubles champion. As part of a two-year pilot program, the NCAA singles and doubles national champions will be determined in the fall rather than the spring.
A year ago, Denver swept the singles qualification spots at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships when Papajcik and
Daniel Sancho Arbizu met in the singles final, sending both to the NCAA Championships.
Joining Denver in the Mountain Regional are Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, host UNLV, Utah, Utah State and Weber State.
