DENVER - [4/3] University of Denver men's soccer captain and defensive midfielder Sam Hamilton (Evergreen, Colo.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All District VII Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.
Hamilton earned the honor for the second-consecutive season, in addition to his candidacy for the Senior CLASS Award in October.
Denver's two-time captain has led Denver to a 53-12-10 record over the last four years, the fourth highest mark in the country, while leading Denver's defensive corps to the fourth-best shutout percentage in the nation in 2016 (0.63).
Hamilton has seven of his 11 career assists in 2016, the seventh-best mark in Denver's Division I single-season history.

Denver can clinch its fourth-consecutive Summit League regular season title with a win at Omaha on October 29. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. MT.
"This is what we want, to go to Omaha and play with the Summit League title on the line," head coach Jamie Franks said. "I know my guys will be ready to go on Saturday."
Denver will close out the regular season on November 3 against Portland at CIBER Field, before hosting the 2016 Summit League Men's Soccer Championships on the DU campus.
