The University of Denver Pioneers (5-4, 0-0) fell to the No. 26 Auburn Tigers, 4-1, in their first match of the 70th Blue Gray National Tennis Classic from Feb. 23 - 25 in Montgomery, Alabama.
Denver ceded the doubles point, dropping matches on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. No. 37 Julia O'Loughlin and Bianca Mok were leading 4-3 against No. 60 Alizee Michaud and Taylor Russo when the doubles point was clinched.
The Pioneers lone victory of the day came at the hands of Anna Riedmiller who earned a 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 6 singles for her first win of the season.
Denver's second match of the day with Yale was suspended due to weather and will resume tomorrow.

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni participation will receive an additional $10,000 of support through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
