The University of Denver Pioneers (3-2, 0-0) defeated the Utah State Aggies (4-4, 0-0), 7-0, on Friday at the Colorado Athletic Club - Monaco.
Denver jumped out to a 1-0 lead, earning the doubles point with wins from No. 47 Julia O'Loughlin & Bianca Mok and Camille Verden-Anderson & Arisha Ladhani. O'Loughlin/Mok finished first with a 6-0 win, then Verden-Anderson/Ladhani won a tie-breaker, 7-2, in the decisive match.
The Pioneers had success on the singles courts as well with wins from O'Loughlin at No. 1 (6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9)) Mok at No. 2 (6-4, 6-0), Ladhani at No. 3 (7-5, 6-2), Hada Chang at No. 4 (6-4, 6-3), Gracia Mboko at No. 5 (6-2, 6-2) and Verden-Anderson at No. 6 (7-5, 6-2).
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10 against Boise State at the Colorado Athletic Club - Monaco. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. MT.

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni participation will receive an additional $10,000 of support through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
