The Denver Pioneers (14-4, 2-0) defeated the New Mexico Lobos, 4-0, in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday.
The victory marked Denver’s third-consecutive sweep and eighth sweep this season. Additionally, the Pioneers’ victory pushed their winning streak to nine matches with four matches remaining until the Summit League Championships on April 27-28 in Denver, Colo.
Denver dropped the first doubles match of the day, but secured the team point with a 6-4 win from Hada Chang and Anna Riedmiller at No. 2 and a 6-3 win from Bianca Mok and Camille Verden-Anderson at No. 3.
The Pioneers carried their momentum from the doubles to singles courts where they won three matches to clinch the victory. Riedmiller logged the first victory on the singles courts with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6, then Hada Chang won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 and Arisha Ladhani won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. All other singles matches were left unfinished.
