No. 62 Julia O'Loughlin fell, 6-1, 6-0, to No. 11 Astra Sharma of Vanderbilt in the Round of 32 at the 2018 NCAA Singles Championship on Thursday in Winston Salem, N.C.

O'Loughlin, a senior, finishes the season with a 15-6 singles record after having defeated No. 45 Anna Bright of the University of California 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Wednesday. For the second consecutive season, O'Loughlin, a 2017 All-American, represented the Pioneers on the national stage. Last season, the Highland Beach, Fla. native advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in the doubles bracket with partner Maureen Slattery, making it further than any duo in school history.

O'Loughlin and partner Bianca Mok are set to represent Denver against No. 1 Paige Hourigan and Kenya Jones of Georgia Tech in the 2018 NCAA Doubles Championship on May 24 at 4 p.m. ET. O'Loughlin and junior Mok are ranked No. 30 in the nation.
