DENVER - The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team (1-1) is set to play its first matches at the Denver Tennis Park this weekend. The Pioneers will host New Mexico, BYU and Northern Colorado in a slate of three matches in three days at the new $14.2 million public facility.
First serve is set for 12:30 p.m. MT on Friday, Feb. 1, 11 a.m. MT on Saturday, Feb 2 and 4:00 p.m. MT on Sunday, Feb. 3.
Denver opened its dual match season last weekend at the ITA Kickoff, defeating Oregon 4-0 before falling to No. 7 Pepperdine by the same score the following day.
Denver enters the 2019 season after having won five-straight Summit League regular-season and tournament championships. The Pioneers return five student-athletes from the 2018 roster, including 2018 Summit League Player of the YearÂ
Bianca Mok and 2018 Summit League Newcomer of the YearÂ
Hada Chang. Denver posted a 19-5 (4-0) mark last season before falling to Kansas in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
