[11] Denver Will Head to Gardner-Webb and Virginia Tech this Weekend

*Weekend Update: Denver took down GWU 20-2 on Friday, March 15*

DENVER
– The No. 11 University of Denver women's lacrosse team is set for another weekend on the road, facing Gardner-Webb on Friday, March 15 at 3 p.m. MT then heading to Virginia Tech on Sunday, March 17 at 10 a.m. MT. The Pioneers look to continue their two-game hot streak, currently sitting at 6-1 on the year.
 
The Crimson and Gold check in at No. 11 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll for the second week in a row, and earn the No. 13 spot in both the US/Nike Lacrosse and the Inside Lacrosse Media polls. Bea Behrins and Quintin Hoch-Bullen lead the team with 18 goals apiece, Eliza Radochonski has totaled 15 assists and 29 points this season and Julia Feiss leads with 39 total shots. Junior Carson Gregg has spent 308-minutes in net for the Pioneers, and ranks No. 2 in the NCAA with 6.35 goals against average.
 
Gardner-Webb is 3-2 on the year, having lost its first two contests of the year but is now on a three-game winning streak. Talen Francis leads the Runnin' Bulldogs with 11 goals this season, totaling a .524 shot percentage. Katie Sylvester has started in all five games, tallying 30 saves for a .411 save percentage.
 
Virginia Tech checked in at No. 24 in the IWCLA Coaches Poll this week, going 4-4 on the year, having lost to No. 15 duke in overtime on February 27 (11-10). The Hokies are averaging 34.7 shots per game with a .702 shot on goal percentage. Paige Petty leads the team with 40 points this season, ranking fifth in the NCAA.
