DENVER – The No. 16 University of Denver women's lacrosse team is set to face No. 22 Georgetown in Washington D.C. on Saturday, April 6. The Pioneers will face the Hoyas at 10 a.m. MT and look for their second BIG EAST win of the season, having defeated Old Dominion 20-1 in the conference opener on Saturday, March 30.
Denver sits at 9-2 (1-0 BIG EAST) on the year, while Georgetown is 7-4 (1-0 BIG EAST) this season.
The Pioneers are coming off a season-high 36 points, 20 goals and 16 assists against Old Dominion, earning their first BIG EAST season opening win since joining the conference in 2017 (W; 14-6 vs. Temple). Denver continues to sit at the top of the leader board in the BIG EAST standings, holding a 0.818 win percentage on the year.
Hannah Liddy leads the Crimson and Gold with 31 assists this season, ranked No. 1 in the BIG EAST, while
Carson Gregg checks in at No. 2 in the NCAA with 6.75 goals-against average.
Denver earned two of the four BIG EAST weekly honors, senior
Katherine Fischer secured the Defender of the Week while Liddy earned her second Attacker of the Week award.
Georgetown ranks No. 2 in the conference standings, having defeated Butler 21-3 on March 30 to secure a 0.636 win percentage on the season. The Hoyas average 13.27 goals scored per game with a .745 shot on goal percentage. Taylor Gebhardt leads the team with 25 goals and 36 points this season, while Haelle Chomo has spent over 550-minutes in net to total 66 saves and a .426 save percentage.
The Pioneers will be back at home in Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Thursday, April 11 to take on Fresno State at 2 p.m.
