DENVER - The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team is set to open the 2021 season with two matches at the ITA Kick Off in Malibu, Calif. on Jan. 23-24.

The Pioneers are set to open the season against No. 17 USC at 2 p.m. MT on Saturday, Jan. 23. Depending on Saturday's results, Denver will play either No. 5 Pepperdine or Wisconsin on Sunday, Jan. 24 in the championship match at 2 p.m. MT or consolation match at 11 a.m. MT.

The Crimson & Gold went 12-4 (1-0) last season with highlight wins against No. 25 South Carolina and Texas Tech. At the time the season was canceled, the Pioneers were ranked 37^th in the country. Every player from the 2020 roster returns this season. Last week, Denver was picked to finish first in the Summit League preseason coaches' poll, Hada Chang & Taylor Melville were ranked 36^th in the country for doubles and Melville was tabbed 117^th among singles players.

Denver has won six straight Summit League regular season and tournament championships.
