DENVER – University of Denver men's lacrosse faceoff specialist
Alec Stathakis has been named to the USILA National Team of the Week, the coaches' association announced on Wednesday.
Stathakis went 17-of-21 from the faceoff dot, picking up a team-best 13 ground balls in Denver's 15-6 win over Air Force on Saturday night. The Culver Military Academy product helped keep Denver in possession during the 20

Wednesday's honor is the second national team of the week honor of his career. On Tuesday, Stathakis was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week.
What's Next
The University of Denver men's lacrosse program,
presented by Your Front Range Toyota Stores will open BIG EAST play next Saturday when the Pioneers head to Marquette. Faceoff is set for 10 a.m. MT. The game will be streamed live on Marquette's website.
