DENVER - The [50] University of Denver women's tennis program will be back in action on Sunday to take on Kansas City in the Pioneers' Summit League opener. First serve at the Denver Tennis Park is set for 1 p.m. MT.
Denver is 6-3 on the year, having won three-straight matches and six of its last seven. The Pioneers have been off since Friday, Feb. 26 when they swept Utah 4-0 for their third straight win. Denver defeated two Power Five opponents through the first half of the season with a 5-2 win at Kansas and 4-3 win vs. Colorado. Senior Anna Riedmiller leads the team in singles play with an 8-1 record at #2, followed by Britt Pursell with a 6-2 mark at #3, Toni Nelson with a 5-2 record at #6 and Taylor Melville with a 4-4 record at #1. In doubles play, [61] Pursell and Camille Verden-Anderson have been the Pioneers' best combination with a 5-1 record.
