DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team is set to host the 2021 Summit League Men's Tennis Championships this weekend at the Denver Tennis Park.
Weekend Schedule
Friday – April 30 – Semifinal No. 1 – No. 4 North Dakota at No. 1 Denver – 9 a.m. MT
Friday – April 30 – Semifinal No. 2 – No. 3 Omaha vs. No. 2 Drake – 12 p.m. MT
Saturday – May 1 – Final – Winners of the two semifinals – 10 a.m. MT
Denver enters the weekend 14-3, including a perfect 5-0 in Summit League play. The Pioneers won their seventh NCAA Division I conference regular season title this campaign, including six Summit League crowns.

Series History vs. The Field:
Denver played all three other programs in this year's championship field in a span of 49 hours the weekend of April 9-11. The Drake and Omaha matches were played at the Denver Tennis Park to start the weekend, before the Pioneers traveled to North Dakota.
Denver vs. No. 2 Drake
Denver leads the all-time series with Drake by a count of 11-8. Denver has won two of the three Summit League regular season matches between the two programs, and is 7-1 against Drake in the Mile High City, including 2-0 at the Denver Tennis Park. Last time against Drake, Denver edged the Bulldogs, 4-3 at the DTP. The two programs have evenly split the previous eight match-ups.
Denver vs. No. 3 Omaha
DU is 9-0 all-time against Omaha, including 4-0 in the Mile High City and 2-0 at the Denver Tennis Park. Earlier this season, Denver defeated the Mavs 6-1 on April 9.
Denver vs. No. 4 North Dakota
The Pioneers have beaten North Dakota in both times of asking in their series history. Both of the previous two match-ups have been played in Grand Forks. Earlier this season, the Pioneers beat North Dakota 5-2 in the third-leg of the wild April weekend.
Significant Stats:
- James Davis enters this weekend's match 13-3 in singles, including 6-1 on the No. 2 Court.
- Ignacio Rivero Crespo and Nicolas Herrero Cuesta have combined to win 15-straight singles matches.
- Peter Sallay is 11-4 in singles, with all of his matches being played on the No. 4 court.
