DENVER – The University of Denver triathlon program has announced its first full fall slate that will include four regional meets to prepare for the 2021 NCAA Championships in Tempe, Ariz., on November 13.
Denver will open the season on September 4 at the Pleasant Prairie Regional Qualifier in Wisconsin. A couple of weeks later, the Pioneers will stay local for an Oktoberfest race in Boulder on September 19.
DU will open its October slate with the Smith Mountain Regional Qualifier in Virginia on October 16 before taking part in the St. George Regional Qualifier in Utah on October 30.
Head coach
Barbara Perkins was named the first full-time head coach in the program's history earlier this month. Perkins led the Pioneers in their first race in program history this past March. In the Pioneers only race of their inaugural season,
Grace Arlandson led the program with a third-place finish in the Division I race at the Clermont Challenge in Florida.
Amanda Ballard took fifth, and
Luma Randolph finished ninth.
