LONG BEACH, California – The University of Denver women's tennis team wrapped up the Long Beach State Winter Invitational with two doubles wins and three singles wins on Sunday.
Denver opened the morning with dominant doubles play and dropping just three games through both of its matches. Senior
Britt Pursell and sophomore
Andrea Burguete Beltran won 6-1 on Court 1 while freshmen
Caroline Driscoll and
Louise Wikander posted a 6-2 win on Court 2.
Burguete Beltran and Wikander each added a straight-set win in singles. Pursell fought back after dropping the first set and being down 5-0 in the second set and 5-2 in the third to win her match.
DU begins its dual match play at home against two in-state rivals, hosting Colorado State on January 28 and Colorado on January 29 at Denver Tennis Park.
