DU Women’s Tennis Opens Dual Play Against CSU, CU

Denver to host Colorado State on January 28, Colorado on January 29

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team begins dual match play when it hosts in-state opponents Colorado State on January 28 at 1:30 p.m. MT and Colorado on January 29 at 10:30 a.m. MT. Both matches will be held at Denver Tennis Park.
 
Last Time Out:
DU spent three days at the Long Beach State Winter Invitational on January 20-22. Despite not having its full roster available, the Pioneers came away with 13 combined wins against host LBSU, Pacific and San Francisco.
 
Sophomore Andrea Burguete Beltran was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week after winning five matches during the weekend including going undefeated in singles play. She added two more wins with doubles partner Britt Pursell.
 
Series History:
Colorado State: DU is 12-4 all-time against CSU and is currently riding a seven-match win streak against the Rams. Most recently, Denver swept Colorado State on March 25, 2014, in Denver. In total, DU leads 7-2 in matches held in Denver.
 
DU hosted CSU in its 2022 fall tournament, the Colorado Cup, capturing six of a possible nine victories on November 5.
 
Colorado: Denver holds a 13-9 record against CU, though CU claimed the most recent win, a 4-0 victory at Colorado on April 6, 2022. DU won the last time the teams played in Denver, earning a 4-3 victory on February 21, 2021.
 
In the fall at the Colorado Cup, DU took five of six singles wins and added a win in No. 1 singles on November 4.
 
Up Next:
DU travels to the University of Iowa on February 3 for a dual against the Hawkeyes before playing Kansas State in a neutral-site match on February 4.
