DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team heads to Iowa City, Iowa, for two matches on February 3-4. DU faces host Iowa on Friday at 4 p.m. MT before playing Kansas State in a neutral-site match on Saturday at 11 a.m. MT.

Denver captured wins in its first two dual matches of the 2023 season, sweeping Colorado State 4-0 on January 28 before logging a 6-1 win over Colorado on January 29. Fifth-year student
Taylor Melville won both of her singles match on Court 1, leading to her first Summit League Women's Tennis Peak Performer of the Week award of the year. Freshmen

Claudia Martinez de Velasco also won both of their singles matches.
Series History:
Iowa: DU is undefeated against Iowa, sitting with a 5-0 record including a 4-3 win in their most recent meeting (February 25, 2022, in Denver). DU last traveled to Iowa City on February 4, 2007, and also came away with a 4-3 victory.
Denver head coach
Paul Wardlaw spent seven seasons as the University of Iowa head coach (1997-2004), though he never faced DU during his tenure.
Kansas State: Denver and Kansas State have split their first two meetings, both coming at KSU. The Wildcats won the most recent match 4-2 on February 13, 2021, though Denver took their first all-time meeting 4-3 on March 4, 2016.
