DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team concludes a three-match road trip when it travels to Utah on Friday, February 10, at 2 p.m. MT.
The match is Denver's fourth-straight against a Power-5 Conference opponent and the second of which will be against a Pac-12 team.
Last Time Out:
Denver captured a 4-2 win over Kansas State in a neutral-site match hosted by Iowa on Saturday, February 4. After claiming the doubles point with wins in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, DU fought for three more singles wins, starting with freshman
Caroline Driscoll's straight-sets win on Court 5.
Fifth-year student
Taylor Melville rallied back for a win in No. 1 singles after dropping the first set, and senior
Britt Pursell earned the clinching win on Court 3 in dramatic fashion. After splitting the first two sets 7-5 5-7 and serving for the match at 5-2 in the third, Pursell earned two match points on KSU's Maria Santos' serve and used a lob winner on a 30-stroke point at 15-40 to give DU the win.
Series History:
DU holds an 11-6 all-time record against Utah including wins in their last two meetings. Most recently, the teams met at Utah on February 19, 2022, in a match that Denver would win 4-3. In total, Denver is 4-5 when playing in Salt Lake City.
