DENVER – The No. 44-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (16-4) will meet Omaha in the semifinals of the 2023 Summit League Women's Tennis Championship on Friday, April 21, at 3 p.m. CT/2 p.m. MT.
The winner of Friday's match between No. 1-seeded Denver and No. 4-seeded Omaha will advance to the Summit League final on Saturday to take on the winner of Friday's second semifinal between No. 2-seeded Kansas City against No. 3-seeded North Dakota.
DU is seeking its ninth Summit League tournament title after winning the regular-season crown for the ninth-straight time.
Last Time Out:
DU finished the regular season with a 6-1 win at North Dakota on April 15, moving the team to a perfect 5-0 record in Summit League play this season. Denver won the doubles point and added five more singles wins at UND, four of which came in straight sets.
Series History Against the Field:
Omaha: DU is now 11-0 against Omaha after sweeping the Mavericks in Denver during the regular season. The teams have met twice previously in the Summit League tournament, most recently a 4-0 win for Denver in the 2022 semifinals.
Kansas City: Denver swept Kansas City during the regular season and now holds a 4-0 all-time record against the Roos. This will be just the second time the teams have met in the Summit League tournament after Denver won, 4-0, in the 2021 final.
North Dakota: DU's 6-1 win at UND in the regular season-finale moved Denver to 4-0 all-time against the Fighting Hawks. The teams have never met in the Summit League tournament.
